My Doctor was fabulous. He was very supportive in everything I wanted and decided. The labor and delivery was better than all the horror stories I kept hearing. It was almost as if these people were trying to scare me with their horror stories. I met a lady at the library that had a natural birth, but most if not all my friends had an epidural or C-section. Often times it was as if people were trying to talk me out of my decision to do a natural birth, as if it was not possible. It fits who I am so how could anyone doubt it would be any other way. Most looked at me as if I was crazy or just naive and did not know what I was getting myself into.
Of course there were those that supported me and of course were curious about how things would turn up, but I am sure people had their doubt. My doctor was overly supportive and excited. He said the majority perhaps 98% of his patients go epidural/c-section. When he walked in he was glowing with excitement. He asked how I was doing. I responded I am HOT. I think everyone laughed, he was confused as if it didn't make any sense. They said that is a new one, not the response that was expected at all.
Jenna, I had a semi-natural birth. I just had a shot of stadal (it's a pain killer). My doctor broke my water about 15 minutes later and Joey's head was right there. I didn't have time for an epidural. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I was proud I gave birth without one. I'm proud of you too!
