PRECIOUS LITTLE TOES
BELLY BUTTON
Technically Madison can be considered a new baby, but perhaps she is no longer considered a 'NEWBORN' because she lost her umbilical cord. She now has a 'bellybutton' sort of. She is still wearing NEWBORN clothes and diapers, so maybe we will continue to call her a NEWBORN until she graduates into bigger clothes and is able to actually hold up her head.

I bought a baby book that discusses all of baby's accomplishments when, where, and what. I was curious is saving the bellybutton plug a thing to do? It seems a little weird, and it is hard to believe it doesn't hurt.

A BUSY DAY FULL OF NOTHING
Everyone says she looks like me. :O) I guess I am so familiar with my own features I am not aware of the resemblance. I am hoping her eyes are brown like mine, but currently they are a hazel grey. Every day they change a shade, from BLUE to BROWN, and now hazel.
We had a busy morning. We got all bundled up. She looked silly in her jacket outfit and beanie, but the wind was pretty cold so I bundled her in whatever I had. We went for a ride to the car dealership. Since my car died, we have been stranded for the last few days. Exhausted from our trip down the street she is back to her sleeping schedule.

Do not let her fool you. She has a set of lungs on her. Usually when she has a wet diaper. She looks so peaceful, but a quick study. She is learning that if she cries when I set her down I have to pick her back up. She wants to sleep in your arms not a bed. Since I am so tired today we just left her sleeping on my lap.

I laugh because who is going to want to read a blog about the baby that never wakes. All my pictures are of a sleeping baby. Doesn't seem that fun, or that difficult. I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if my boobs were not overly full of sticky liquid that needed to be drained every 2 hours. Of course that is not something they explain prior to birth, or the fact that you will be breast feeding around the clock 24 hours a day. Who would want to breast feed if they knew this bit of information. Makes it hard to do anything but feed and clean up.
Is that all they do is sleep, eat, and poop? When does she get fun? Poor baby, we are going to be doing yoga before she will be able to walk.
BABY IS AWAKE
Baby is awake!! She does open her eyes! I feel like all she does is sleep. My sister said it great, when are you going to be fun, let's play... Today she actually lifted up her head looked at me and turned it over to lay on the other cheek. Not sure when she is suppose to be able to hold up her own head, but I cannot wait because I am ready to do TUMMY TIME aka YOGA!
You would think with the amount of sleep that she gets that I wouldn't be exhausted. Instead she sleeps while I clean up our messes. We were on a great every 3 hour feeding schedule. Instead it somehow got converted to a every 1-2 hour feeding schedule because she won't eat more. The more she eats the more you may spread it out the less she eats the more she needs to eat..JPG)

SLEEPING BABY AGAIN
UNABLE TO WAKE UP
Baby will not wake up for her feedings. It takes 30 minutes to wake her. She definitely did not get this from me, for I have not slept in days. They say sleep while baby sleeps, but I am not a nap type person I may sleep for a month. Plus sleeping during the day is not my thing.

SWINGING THRU THE DAY
My favorite outfit. We went to the Doctor's office today. We wore a red crocheted hat and booties to match the strawberry onesie. The nurses oo-ed and aw-ed over Madison. How tiny she was and how adorable her outfit was. Handmade items make everything that much more special.
Today Madison is 12 days and 45 minutes old. She is in the 75th percentile for growth and weight. She is 21 inches long and even though the newborn hats do not fit her head only measures out to 14 inches.
I love the swing. a peaceful hammock like swing where she can sit giving me a moment to use both hands. (Courtney you "ROCK")

SLEEPING BABY
Baby falls asleep and it is near impossible to wake her. She has to be woken up to eat every 2 to 3 hours, but trying to wake her is at least a 30 minute challenge.
