NEW SITTER

Our original sitter decided she needed a week off for surgery. She thought that a week would be sufficient for a hysterectomy. I figure it will be 6-8 weeks since that is about the time they give for a C-section and this is major surgery. Considering the doctor said shew wouldn't be able to lift anything, I would rather not leave my small child in her care. I was getting an uneasy feeling about leaving Madison there anyhow considering she has 5 boys and with them returning to middle school and high school I feared they could be Swine Flu carriers.

The news says 90 million could die this winter from this flu outbreak, which is up from the average amount of deaths due to the common flu. NERVOUS! We are flying to AZ Labor Day weekend, and I am nervous about that! I bought a carrier for the car seat, and I am looking for the TINY size masks to put on Madison. I figure if we sit in the middle seat and wear masks no one will want to sit by us, at leas that is what I am hoping for.

So since we switched sitters I have noticed a HUGE difference. My friends mom is watching Madison. She is such a positive glowing person. I am extremely excited. She has a one story house, it is clean, it doesn't smell, and she is just warm and inviting. The first day Madison had 3 naps and ate a good amount (double what she would eat at the other sitters). Plus she wasn't attached to a binky when I picked her up. I feel comfortable when I leave her knowing she will be safe.

She even slept through the night, which was a huge break for me. Things are good. Although, I am going to miss seeing my best good friend and her adorable 2 year old son everyday when I would pick up Madison. He is precious! I am excited for the days when Madison can play with other kids... oh whoa! GERMS I cannot wait!

SITTING UP

A FLOWER

We found a flower while shopping. I couldn't decide if we should do it
or not.

TRYING TO SIT UP

PINK OUTFIT

5 MONTH UPDATE

We went to the doctor for a five month follow up appointment. Madison is 13lbs and 26 inches long. Madison is above average almost off the charts in height, but for weight she is under. She is still gaining weight, but only in the 20th percentile. At 6 months we will be able to start her on FOOD. I am excited just a bit nervous about preparing everything. Right now breast milk is FREE so that will be interesting.

I figured she is really skinny or small since she is still wearing her newborn or 0-3 month clothes. At least we are getting use of all the cute outfits we received. The newborn pants are a little big around the waist, but of course we use them as shorts.

She is learning to roll over and tries so hard to sit up. It is amazing she can do yoga poses but cannot sit up. We are practicing the yoga part. I just bought her a new walker type bouncer. She is able to sit up in it. Her feet do not touch the bouncer bottom yet, but I am sure she will discover her legs soon. She has also discovered new sounds such as this squeaking noise and this spitting imitation where she drools everywhere.
